    repair
  • Fix or mend (a thing suffering from damage or a fault)

  • restore by replacing a part or putting together what is torn or broken; "She repaired her TV set"; "Repair my shoes please"

  • a formal way of referring to the condition of something; "the building was in good repair"

  • Put right (a damaged relationship or unwelcome situation)

  • the act of putting something in working order again

  • Make good (such damage) by fixing or repairing it

  • any of a class of solid or semisolid viscous substances obtained either as exudations from certain plants or prepared by polymerization of simple molecules

  • Resin is a hydrocarbon secretion of many plants, particularly coniferous trees. It is valued for its chemical properties and associated uses, such as the production of varnishes, adhesives, and food glazing agents; as an important source of raw materials for organic synthesis; and as

  • Resin is a 2001 film and the 23rd film produced under the terms and conditions of the Danish film collaborative, Dogme 95.

    wood
  • forest: the trees and other plants in a large densely wooded area

  • Such material when cut and used as timber or fuel

  • The hard fibrous material that forms the main substance of the trunk or branches of a tree or shrub

  • the hard fibrous lignified substance under the bark of trees

  • A golf club with a wooden or other head that is relatively broad from face to back (often with a numeral indicating the degree to which the face is angled to loft the ball)

Receiver

Receiver

The Francotte improved design rifles lack the cocking indicator lever on the right side (which would be familiar to those who have seen the film "Zulu.")

The stock where it fits into the receiver is heavily damaged and loose. I'm not sure how it attaches and whether tightening some sort of screw (below the butt plate, perhaps) would firm that up. At a minimum I would need to repair the damaged wood so that it fits more snugly into the receiver. My general intention is that I would repair it in some way, perhaps with epoxy or resin, while leaving the visible damage as unmodified as possible.

pitch black

pitch black

.
1. Any of various thick, dark, sticky substances obtained from the distillation residue of coal tar, wood tar, or petroleum and used for waterproofing, roofing, caulking, and paving.
2. Any of various natural bitumen, such as mineral pitch or asphalt.
3. A resin derived from the sap of various coniferous trees, as the pines.

Pitch black.. means very dark.

The cracks in the asphalt were repaired with pitch which when seen in the low light of late afternoon in Fall take on a really beautiful pattern and sheen.
